Evanston Day Nursery (EDN) is a not-for-profit, National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredited and United Way affiliated child care center created in 1912 and committed to meeting the needs of working parents for quality childcare.

EDN offers year round preschool for children ages 2 1/2 through 5 years old. After-school care (HomeBASE) and summer camp programs are offered for students attending kindergarten through third grade.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality care and educational experiences for children of diverse socio-economic and racial backgrounds. EDN provides support services to families in order to best promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the children enrolled in our program.

With over 100 years of combined experience working in an early childhood setting, our staff is made up of professionally trained, life-long learners knowlegable about the unique needs of children. Our teachers seek to maintain high levels of communication, prepare curriculum together weekly, and make plans for individual children as needed. We also have an on-site family service worker available to meet the needs of our children & their families.
