EDN offers 10 weeks of full-day Summer Camp for children who have completed Kindergarten-3rd grade. The camp is taught by accredited, experienced teachers who also oversee the afterschool program HomeBASE. Camp offers the option of extended day and hot lunches. Exciting themes based on educational principles plus sports, arts & crafts, computers and more.
In addition, campers participate regularly in the very popular summer literacy program Adventures in Reading. Each camper has the opportunity to explore age-appropriate books of their choice, then meet regularly with a staff member to discuss what they have read and predict what they think might happen. Every camper has a journal to write in daily, often times with a direct question to respond to. Adventures in Reading offers each child an opportunity to develop their reading skills with fun, self-paced activities that are in a different context from school.
